1983 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham

Been a member for a while but have not been on in forever and a day. Looks like my old posts are gone.

Any who. Got this car in 1991 when I started driving. Grandpa bought her in 1983. Grandparents are gone now but the car is still here. Had her off the road from 2005 to 2014 under a cover. But kept the oil and gas fresh along with the anti-freeze. Put several hours of run time on the engine a year moving her around in the driveway. Life drama was keeping me from getting the frame fixed. Went to welding school to learn how and then auto body school. Had the body jacked up off the frame for two year while I ground the rotten body mount holes out and welded in plates. Replaced the stock body mounts with urethane ones. Had to piece together a kit from two Impala SS kits. Was having Pallone Chevrolet do the body work but they went out of business so I took up where they left off (reason why I went to auto body school). Came with mostly every option except sport suspension and limited slip. She has the 305, 700-R4, 2.73s. Right now the only stock part is the rear axle. Definitely has more scoot than when I got her! Current project was windshield removal and rust repair which included media blasting, acid etching, and sheet metal fab. I MIGged most of the rust pits with a TIG! What a job! I botched the install when I got glue all over then tried to get it off and ended up removing the epoxy primer in the process! Did a temporary fix and hope it holds against the elements until I can revisit the project in the future. Next year's project is the roof. Vinyl top got water under it and did a number on the roof. Researching this project over the winter. I use Mom's garage 6 months out of the year (or less) for some of the more weather sensitive projects. Piecing the front end back together now along with the interior trim. Hope to have her back in the driveway by Thanksgiving for her Winter nap.

I'll post some pics when I can.

Welcome! I know there's not a lot of traffic here, but we have a small, enjoyable little community. I hope your Pontiac gives you years of enjoyment!
