The pipe that goes from the passenger side exhaust manifold to the air cleaner nose...what's it called?

Is it supposed to be hard pipe or corrugated flex pipe?

it's the heat riser shaft. It's supposed to be flex pipe. It's not that critical. It brings warm air to the carburator during a cold start. More useful in the winter.
