| Ok what should I have done. Now lets pretend you own a 1977 delta 88 royal. With 350ci / th200 transmission and a 7 1/2 rear diff. Runs good but it is what it is. Spotted a 78 chevy station wagon at the junkyard with drive train complete. Should I go back and get the rear axle and possibly the front spindles? Any ideas on the 7 1/2 holding up to some real abuse? I plan on keeping a small block in her but it and the transmission are to be upgraded. Junk parts are cheep enough, I dont know what to look for in the rear axle department. Thanks |

77, I'm sure others will weigh in on this, but it's my understanding that the rearend from a wagon is slightly wider than the rear end your car now has. Will this cause fitment problems? Probably, but I've never tried it. _________________ Rob

| This junkyard Im using does not keep cars around for long. Stupid of me to let that influence me to go buy up parts without doing any research first. Ill just keep looking and not bother anyone till I have more legitimate questions to ask. |

Definitely should have grabbed all of the front end pieces you could find. The rear would bolt up, but the track would be wider. It would probably fit. But you would be limited on wheel/tire selection for the rear... _________________ CD Smalley
